2010 Golden Globes To Broadcast Live Nationwide

For the first time, the 67th Golden Globe Awards will broadcast live on both coasts.

The ceremony, ordinarily tape-delayed to run in primetime on the West Coast, will run live nationwide in order to combat the speed of online news, which can reveal winners to audiences before the delayed telecast.

“Why go through the Internet?” Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Productions, told Variety. “You don’t have to watch the pre-show somewhere else. You can come to NBC to watch it.”

The ceremony will air on NBC on January 17, 2010, at 8 PM EST – or on the West Coast, 5 PM.

Nominations will be announced on December 15.
