Alyson Hannigan is offering her support and parenting advice to her “How I Met Your Mother” co-star, Neil Patrick Harris, and his partner, David Burtka, upon the Tuesday arrival of their newborn twins.
The 36-year-old actress, who gave birth to her daughter, Satyana, in 2009, said NPH already has what it takes to be a great father – a young spirit.
”[Neil] is definitely a kid at heart and I think that really helps,” Alyson told People on Saturday. “He’s fantastic with my daughter, and she just loves him.”
“He has this phenomenal song that he has made up and it makes my daughter laugh every time he does it,” she added, laughing. “It sticks in my head for days. It’s so brilliant… He’s definitely going to be so creative and fun.”
Though the bubbly redhead has complete faith in her co-star’s parenting abilities, she was more than happy to share her first-hand child-rearing knowledge with Neil and David when the couple paid a visit to Alyson’s home with a list of baby questions.
“I don’t think they needed any of our advice but we peppered them with all the information that my husband and I have,” Alyson told the mag. “We gave them a list of our favorite products and talked about [how] the first six weeks in is kind of the hardest. [Just] trying to figure out what each cry means or what is the best schedule for the baby is hard.”
The former “Buffy” star said she is “excited” for Neil and David’s new chapter in their lives, adding, “I can’t wait to share the feeling that your heart has exploded into something bigger than you ever thought it would be.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Neil announced the arrival of his twins via Twitter on Friday, writing, “Babies!! On 10/12, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace entered the Burtka-Harris fold.”
“All of us are happy, healthy, tired,” the Emmy winner continued in his Tweet. “And a little pukey.”
