American Idol: Keith Urban Would Return As A Judge ‘In A Heartbeat’

Amid rumors claiming all four “American Idol” judges will be leaving after the end of Season 12 (following Randy Jackson’s announced exit), Keith Urban says he’d be happy to stay.

“I would [return] in a heartbeat, yeah,” the country superstar told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman following the show on Wednesday, when asked if he’d stay on for Season 13 if the offer was presented.

Keith, who was new to the judges’ panel this season (along with Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj), said he’s enjoyed the “Idol” process and watching the aspiring artists come into their own.

“I love all of it and I’ve loved this journey — I really have,” he said. “I’ve loved watching the journey of all of these artists from these little audition moments we find them in and then seeing them come all this way. It’s really extraordinary watching them evolve.”

As for reports the Fox reality show plans to replace all four judges in an effort to overhaul the series for better ratings, Keith said he’s in the dark regarding his “Idol” future.

“I don’t know what’s going on,” he said. “I really don’t.”

The Season 12 finale (where either Kree Harrison or Candice Glover will be crowned winner) airs tonight at 8/7c on Fox.
