Andrew Garfield Went Commando In Superhero Suit For ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’

Nothing comes between Andrew Garfield and his Spider-Man suit!

The actor recently stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” where he revealed that superheroes – or at least the actors playing them – don’t wear any underwear.

“Was there anything under that suit? It’s so skin tight it seems you would see lines of underwear or something like that. Is there anything under there? Nothing under there?” Ellen asked the 28-year-old actor, referring to the iconic Marvel superhero’s costume.

“It’s just me,” Andrew said.

“Did you feel naked?” Ellen asked.

“Yeah, It’s the worst,” he continued, explaining the materials used for the web-slinger’s costume was difficult to work in.

“It’s made of something that is designed to make you irritated,” he joked.

The actor also chatted about how getting in superhero shape was no simple task.

“It was a life change. I get frustrated with those Men’s Health magazines, [saying] it’s like in 5 minutes you’ll be as fit a as fiddle if you just follow those three simple steps and only eat cucumbers,” he explained. “This was hard work. I wouldn’t be able to do it without someone [helping me.]”

“The Amazing Spider-Man” – which also stars Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field – swings into theaters on July 3.
