Anne Hathaway Splits From Longtime Boyfriend

Anne Hathaway and her Italian businessman boyfriend Raffaello Follieri have split, according to People.

The couple, who had dated for four years, are “for now, not together,” a source close to Hathaway told People.

“They are always breaking up and getting back together, so the fact that they broke up this time around doesn’t strike me as anything new,” the source added. “They are passionate people – and just like any relationship, people get together, break up and get back together again. This breakup is one in a long line of previous breakups, so I don’t think it’s anything significant.”

Earlier this month, it was revealed Follieri, 29, was under investigation by the New York State Attorney General’s office, which failed to find the required IRS tax disclosure forms for his Follieri Foundation, a charity whose work includes vaccinating children in Third World countries.

In May, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office decided not to prosecute Follieri, following an arrest in April for allegedly writing a bad check worth $215,000.

Despite his legal troubles, a source close to Follieri told People he still cares for the 25-year-old Hathaway.

“He loves her. He cares deeply for her,” the source said. “It’s a shame.”

Hathaway, whose new film “Get Smart” opens in theaters on Friday, showed up solo to the movie’s Los Angeles premiere on June 16.
