Anne Hathaway Talks Oscar Co-Hosting Gig: ‘I Like A Challenge’

Anne Hathaway is excited to take on her new gig as Oscars co-host – but the actress admits it won’t be an easy task.

“I don’t really have a great reason,” Anne told The New York Post’s PopWrap of taking the job, alongside fellow young actor James Franco. “I like a challenge. It seems like an incredibly cool and exhilarating thing to do.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Anne and James will co-host the 83rd annual Academy Awards, which will air live on ABC on February 27, 2011.

While the “Love and Other Drugs” actress is no stranger to the Oscars stage – having previously performed with host Hugh Jackman during the show’s 2009 musical opening — Anne said she expects to have a case of the jitters during the telecast.

“I’m convinced it will be a [nerve-wracking experience],” she told PopWrap.

Both Anne and James may be involved in more than just hosting once the awards are handed out, as both stars are garnering Oscar buzz for their respective roles.

James is being considered an early Best Actor Oscar favorite for his turn in the dramatic “127 Hours,” while Anne is considered a long shot for a Best Actress nomination for her “Love and Other Drugs” role, opposite Jake Gyllenhaal.
