Avicii’s Family Thanks Fans For Support Days After The Swedish DJ’s Death

The family of Avicii is thanking his fans for their support days after the superstar DJ died.

Avicii’s family says in a statement released Monday that they are grateful for his fans around the world who loved his music and are thankful “for the support and the loving words.”

Avicii, born Tim Bergling, was found dead Friday in Muscat, Oman. Details about his death were not revealed.

The Grammy-nominated Swedish performer received a number of tributes over at concerts and Coachella, ranging from acts like Nick Jonas to Kygo to Tiesto. Stockholm fans observed a minute of silence in his honor on Saturday.

Avicii’s hits include “Wake Me Up” and “Le7els.” He had in the past suffered acute pancreatitis, in part due to excessive drinking.
