After receiving a heap of criticism for her Japanese culture-filed video – including Billboard dubbing it a “trainwreck” for its “Japan fetishization” – Avril is speaking out. “RACIST??? LOLOLOL!!! I love Japanese culture and I spend half of my time in Japan. I flew to Tokyo to shoot this video,” the singer Tweeted. The track is co-written by Avril’s husband, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.
