‘Bachelor Pad’ Couple Ames & Jackie No Longer Together; Jackie ‘Shocked’ By Split

Ames Brown impressed America when he ditched his chances to win $250,000 on Monday night’s “Bachelor Pad,” by jumping into a limo with eliminated contestant – and his newfound ladylove — Jackie Gordon, but it appears things didn’t end happily ever after.

On Tuesday, during a conference call with reporters, Ames and Jackie confirmed that despite Ames’ great gesture, the two couldn’t make it work and have since broken up.

“We had a great time on the show and chose love over money in the competition,” Ames told reporters on Tuesday. “We are not still dating, but we enjoyed every moment we had together.”

As fans saw on Monday’s episode, after Jackie was eliminated following the “Bachelor Pad’s” group vote, Ames realized he couldn’t stay on the show without the lady he’d grown so close to.

Ames was caught on camera making a split decision after Jackie’s elimination. As she prepared to be driven away, he waved goodbye to his fellow competitors and opted for true love, hopping in her limo and leaving the “Bachelor Pad.”

However, their romance would prove to be short-lived, as they dated for only “a couple of weeks” before Ames broke things off – which came as a surprise to Jackie.

“I personally was definitely shocked that it ended as it did,” Jackie said on the conference call. “I was certainly not expecting that. I thought this was something that had potential forever, but you know, with every relationship, nothing is maybe exactly perfect.

“But it’s a hard pill to swallow when you find love, especially on a show like that where it’s so unusual, and it leaves you. It’s hard,” she admitted.

While Jackie and Ames may have been the most notable losses from Monday’s “Bachelor Pad,” Ames wasn’t the only contestant to voluntarily walk off the show.

Prior to the elimination ceremony and Ames hitching a ride in the limo with Jackie, fellow contestant Gia Allemand packed her bags in a tear-filled exit and quit the show.

And while she saw Ames forfeit a shot at $250,000 for love along with the rest of America, the couple’s split was just as surprising to Gia as it was to fans.

“I’m just finding this out you guys! I can’t believe I’m hearing this!” Gia, who was also on the conference call, told reporters and her fellow former contestants. “You two just told me like there is no Santa Claus!”

So now that he’s single, and following his failed pursuit of Ashley on the last season of “The Bachelorette,” would Ames consider stepping back in front of the cameras as ABC’s next “Bachelor”?

“It hasn’t been discussed or anything. So at this point, I don’t even know,” he added.
