Bethenny Frankel Opens Up About ‘Excruciating’ Divorce: ‘I Feel Like A Failure’

Bethenny Frankel is opening up about her impending divorce from Jason Hoppy.

In an interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres” show set to air on Wednesday, the reality TV star said having the demise of her two-year marriage played out in the media has been devastating – but par for the course since she allowed cameras to chronicle her every move during the couple’s happier times.

“I feel like a failure. I really put it out there — I wanted the fairytale, I thought I had it,” she told Ellen of the aftermath of her recently-announced breakup. “And [my daughter] Bryn is my fairytale… but I don’t know how people go through [divorce] because this is excruciating.”

The 42-year-old Skinnygirl mogul, who will soon launch her own talk show based in New York, said she’s received mixed fan feedback regarding her and Jason’s split and understands both sides.

“I get letters. So many people have been so supportive and some people are judgmental,” she said. “And I really understand.”

Bethenny also admitted she’s nervous about facing the future alone, even though she believes it will be “better” in the long run.

“I’m scared of the unknown future. You know everything, and one day you don’t know,” she said. “So I’m scared. I’m older.”

Adding, “I never thought I’d be a role model but I think to some people I am or have been. So this is an important time because it’s about what I do next. How I handle myself now with grace, with dignity. This is the time now that matters.”
