Bethenny Frankel Reveals Recent Miscarriage

Bethenny Frankel teared up on Monday’s “Today” show as she revealed she recently suffered a miscarriage while trying to have a second child with husband Jason Hoppy.

“We were pregnant with a second baby and at eight weeks I miscarried,” Bethenny said on Monday, as she promoted the third season of her Bravo series, “Bethenny Ever After.”

Growing tearful, the reality star shared her sadness over the loss.

“That was a very emotional experience and it had a lot of different things that came with it. And… thinking about women who can’t have their own baby, even the first baby, I mean, I’m really lucky,” Bethenny, who is mom to Bryn, 21 months, continued. “I have the most beautiful daughter in the world… and I’m grateful for her.”

Bethenny said she isn’t sure what the future holds regarding children.

“Until you become a woman you don’t know the things that come with being a woman and I’m 41,” Bethenny said. “I don’t know. It’s not really my choice, it’s not really my option and the window’s closing and so, you know, it’s something that I’m dealing with.”

The reality star said her miscarriage will not be a part of Season 3 of her show.

“[It] is something that has not been dealt with on the show — that was very recent,” she said

When asked if she still hopes to have another child, Bethenny said her own loss made her think about others.

“I’m not really thinking about it… I do have an incredible daughter, I feel like she’s perfect, and I – honestly, truthfully — have thought about other women more than myself,” she said. “The first thing that I thought about was, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe what people must go through if they can’t even have the one.’”

“Bethenny Ever After” premieres on February 20 at 9/8c on Bravo.
