Betty White ‘This Close’ To Hosting ‘SNL’; Could She Have Company?

If Betty White’s “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig becomes a reality – the iconic comedienne might have some company.

While Betty is reportedly “this close” to her first hosting gig, she wouldn’t be taking the stage alone.

According to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, the folks at “SNL” are considering a “Women of Comedy” episode that could include the likes of Betty, along with “SNL” alums Molly Shannon, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, a grassroots Facebook fan campaign was launched earlier this month begging “SNL” brass to get the former “Golden Girl” on their stage.

The “Betty White To Host SNL (please?)!” fan page currently boasts over 427,000 supporters.

In a statement to Access Hollywood, Betty said all of the talk of her hosting the iconic program caught her off guard.

“All this came out of left field — all of a sudden, all this stuff has come in,” she said. “I don’t know any more than I did in the beginning, I’m just watching in awe.”
