Beyonce & Jay-Z: Hollywood’s Highest Paid Couple

Celebrity couples who manage to remain Hollywood sweethearts have brought new meaning to the words “power couple” with their perfectly balanced chemistry and impressive combined incomes.

Earlier this week, Forbes released their list of the highest paid celebrity couples, and it’s not surprising to see that a new pair of stars atop the list: Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Coming in at number one, the famous husband and wife hip-hop couple managed to bring in a staggering $78 million dollars this past year, powered by the release of Jay-Z’s critically-acclaimed album “Watch the Throne” with co-producer Kanye West and the duo’s subsequent North American tour. Add in his non-musical ventures, which include an ad firm and cosmetics agency, and Jay-Z caps off with a total of $38 million.

Beyonce, who was also recognized by Forbes as one of the 100 most powerful and influential musicians in the world, exceeded her husband’s earnings through both her old and new music – including her 2011 album “4” that went platinum on August 1. With increasingly successful endorsement deals and big-screen productions already underway, the R&B singer raked in a total of $48 million in the past year.

Other dynamic duos who made Forbes’ list this year included last year’s top earners Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady, as well as David and Victoria Beckham, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, rounding out the top five.
