Bill Cosby: ‘Black Media’ Should Remain ‘Neutral’ Regarding Rape Allegations

After a barrage of sexual assault allegations levied against him by more than 20 women, Bill Cosby spoke out on Friday.

In an interview with the New York Post’s Page Six, the embattled TV vet reportedly said he expects African-American members of the press to remain “neutral” regarding his situation.

“Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind,” he told the Post.

The comedian kept it brief, saying he’d been advised by his attorneys not to speak to reporters about the ongoing allegations, but gave an update on how his wife, Camille, is coping during this time.

“Love and the strength of womanhood,” he said. “Let me say it again, love and the strength of womanhood. And, you could reverse it, the strength of womanhood and love.”

Cosby attorney, Martin Singer, has denied many of the allegations against the comedian.

Singer was not immediately available for comment on the recent allegations brought by supermodel Beverly Johnson when Access Hollywood reached out.
