Breaking Bad Series Finale: How The Stars Reacted On Twitter (SPOILER ALERT)

“Breaking Bad” ended its run on AMC with a bang.

Creator Vince Gilligan and his team of writers, wrapped up the show in the way they felt it needed to be wrapped up.

“We knew we needed to dot all the Is and cross all the Ts,” Vince said on the Chris Hardwick hosted “Talking Bad,” held right after the show wrapped up its run on AMC. “We needed resolution.”

(SPOILER ALERT: The following two paragraphs sum up briefly how the characters ended up in the finale.)

At the end of the show, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) passed away in the lab after taking out Uncle Jack and his white supremacist gang. He also freed Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) from being their meth cooking slave. Before Jesse left, he too took action, killing Todd.

“I think in that last scene, he is with his Precious, you know, in ‘Lord of the Rings’ terms,” Vince said on “Talking Bad” of Walt’s final moment on camera. “He is with that meth lab that he and Jesse designed — their baby so to speak — and I think the lyrics to the song, “Baby Blue” by Badfinger back that up and I think he is at peace with himself. He has screwed up his life tremendously, I think he knows that, but he has accomplished the thing that he set out to accomplish in that very first pilot episode… He wanted to leave money to his family and he’s accomplished that with the aid of Gretchen and Elliott.”

Asked about his show ending with a resolution, compared to the open ended conclusion of “The Sopranos,” Vince said that’s the way it had to be for “Breaking Bad.”

“’The Sopranos’ ending, I thought, was great. I thought it was perfect for that show. This show needed the ending that was perfect for it. This show was intended all along to be very finite and you know, it’s a story that starts at A and ends at Z as it were, and it’s a very close ended thing, so it needs… a very different kind of ending … than ‘The Sopranos,’” he said.

And it proved to be a hit with celebrity fans who Tweeted their approval in droves.
