‘Bridesmaids’ Stars React To ‘Glee’ Tribute Photo

The cast of “Bridesmaids” hit the red carpet on Sunday night at the Oscars, where stars Melissa McCarthy and Maya Rudolph raved over the recent “Glee” photo tribute to the box office smash hit.

“What is this? Oh my God, no,” Maya told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush when he showed her the photo of the “Glee” girls in the now-famous “Bridesmaids” poster pose.

“No way. That’s so awesome,” Maya said, before seeing who was who in the photo. “Wait a minute. I’m a Lea Michele? Holy crap! I’m so honored. What could be better? What an incredible honor.”

Melissa McCarthy, who is up for a Best Supporting Actress statue for her role in “Bridesmaids,” also hadn’t seen the “Glee” pic and was thrilled over the tribute.

“Oh, my God! Wait, did they do this?” she said. “I had no idea.”

Melissa told Billy the photo made her Oscar day even better.

“That makes me so happy,” Melissa added. “I love ‘Glee.’ Oh, I love that.”

Melissa has been having trouble with her voice of late, but she managed to make it to the red carpet to tackle the press line at Sunday’s big event.

“I’ve got a little of it,” Melissa said of her voice. “I’m not sick, it’s just the vocal cords.”

But whether she would rally to a post-Oscars bash later in the evening, Melissa said she wasn’t sure she could do it.

“I don’t know. I’m gonna wait and see, ‘cause I have to go to work – I have to be at work, at 9 o’ clock tomorrow morning for ‘Mike and Molly,’” she told Billy. “I still have to go to work and have voice. It’s kind of helpful for what I do.”

Wendy McLendon-Covey was also on the Oscars red carpet, ahead of reuniting with her castmates on stage, and when Billy asked about what might be keeping Kristen Wiig from signing up to co-write a sequel, Wendy said her co-star is busy.

“I think she’s really genuinely too busy to sit down and write anything else write now,” Wendy said. “She’s got like, back to back to back projects lined up.”

And she didn’t rule out a return to the big screen for the gang.

“Who knows how things are… Give it some distance,,” Wendy added.
