Britney’s Vegas Vacation Turns Ugly

What started out as a Las Vegas vacation for Britney Spears and her two sons turned to violence yesterday, according to police.

Britney’s bodyguard, Cesar Julio Camera, 37, was issued a misdemeanor battery summons by the Las Vegas police department yesterday, following an alleged scuffle between him and two men trying to photograph Spears and her sons, 22-month-old Sean Preston Federline and 10-month-old Jayden James Federline, at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel-casino.

Camera was accused of pushing one of the men against a wall in the fracas, and grabbing and punching the other.

According to police, the the incident occurred at approximately 11:30 AM, when Andrew Deetz, 24, and Kyle Henderson, 23, approached Spears and her companions (which included Camera) in a hallway outside the hotel’s spa. A hotel security guard reportedly told the men to put their photo equipment away.

Henderson allegedly “bumped” Camera, who was holding Sean Preston at the time. Britney reportedly screamed as Camera “shouldered” Henderson against a wall, according to police reports.

Camera reportedly passed off Sean Preston to Spears and ran after Henderson and Deetz.

Police told the Associated Press that Camera punched Deetz in the encounter. Deetz showed officers a “lump and abrasion” on his forehead resulting from the incident, but Henderson was reportedly unharmed. The scuffle was said to have been captured videotape by hotel security cameras.

No serious injuries befell anyone at the scene, according to police, and neither Britney nor her sons were reported to be hurt.

“There were no signs of injuries to her or the children, nor is [Spears] listed as a victim,” Las Vegas police Sgt. John Loretto told the AP. Britney is listed as a “witness” in police reports, along with one man and five other women. “The only person issued a citation was Ms. Spears’ private security guard, Mr. Camera,” Loretto said.

Loretto didn’t know when Camera was scheduled to respond to the summons, but said he could face up to six months in county jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.

Camera has been a part of “Team Britney” for approximately six months. While known to be generally professional and courteous in the past, he made news earlier this week when he became aggressive with paparazzi who were swarming Britney upon leaving LA hotspot The Abbey. Camera grew red and began screaming at the photographers, appearing to get physical as he pushed into the mass of snappers to clear a path for the star.

A Wynn resort spokeswoman declined to comment on yesterday’s incident to the AP, and Access Hollywood has reached out to Britney’s record label reps for several Britney-related stories in the past week, but the record label has not responded.

Yesterday’s incident may not be the only unpleasant situation to result from Britney’s trip to Vegas, as the inclusion of her sons on the visit could pose problematic in her custody battle with her estranged husband, Kevin Federline.

Britney and Kevin’s custody agreement reportedly states that neither parent is allowed to take a child out of state without written permission from the other –or by obtaining a court order — which various reports claim Britney failed to do before setting out with the boys.

Access Hollywood has reached out to both Federline’s record label and his lawyer for comment, but a response has not come back as of press time.
