Bruce Jenner Sued For Wrongful Death Over Fatal Malibu Car Crash

Bruce Jenner is now facing a wrongful death lawsuit in the wake of a February Malibu car crash.

The adult stepchildren of Kim Howe, the 69-year-old woman who died in the crash on PCH, filed the suit against Jenner on May 1 – nearly three months after Howe was killed behind the wheel of her Lexus when Jenner’s Cadillac Escalade rear-ended the car, allegedly pushing it into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a Hummer.

In the papers, obtained by Access Hollywood, Howe’s stepchildren – Dana Redmond and William Howe – claim Jenner was “careless and negligent” in causing the accident.

“As a result of decedent’s death, plaintiffs [Redmond and William Howe] have been caused to lose, among other things, the love, affection, support, comfort, society, financial support and more from the decedent upon whom they were dependent and incurred bills and out of pocket damages and losses, to their great detriment,” the lawsuit claims.

Following the February 7 accident, Jenner released a statement offering his condolences to those affected by the crash.

“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident,” Jenner’s statement to Access Hollywood said at the time.

“It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them,” his statement continued. “I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”

Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department has confirmed to Access Hollywood that Jenner has not been charged in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

Attorneys for Redmond and Howe released the following joint statement to NBC News on Friday:

“Kim Howe was the step-mother to Dana Redmond and William Howe for approximately 40 years. Even after their father’s death ten years ago, Dana and William continued to have a close relationship with Ms. Howe. So far, no one has accepted responsibility for the collision that resulted in Ms. Howe’s death. Her children feel an obligation to bring the truth to light and seek justice for Ms. Howe. This lawsuit is the only tool at their disposal that gives them the ability to do so.”

A spokesperson for Jenner had no comment on the lawsuit when contacted by Access Hollywood
