Candace Bushnell: Blake Lively & Miley Cyrus In ‘Sex And The City’ Prequel ‘Are Completely Rumors’

“Sex and The City” fans can’t help but wonder – if a “Sex and The City” prequel makes it to the big screen, will it star Blake Lively or Miley Cyrus?

Series creator and author Candace Bushnell – whose new novel prequel, “Summer and The City,” is in bookstores now – stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Tuesday, where Kit Hoover asked if Blake or Miley was in the running for any possible future “Sex” projects.

“I think those are completely rumors,” Candace told Kit

The best-selling author admitted that she herself is not completely in the know when it comes to who might play a young Carrie Bradshaw.

“I think it’s on a need to know basis, and I don’t know anything,” she added.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the original Carrie, Sarah Jessica Parker, said she’s up for a third “Sex” movie.

“I would go back,” SJP told The Los Angeles Times’ 24 Frames blog in January. “I think there’s one more story to tell. I know there is… I’d definitely tell that [third] story, and I know [producer Michael Patrick King] would do it right. But maybe not now. Maybe in five years, you know?”

However, co-star Kristin Davis told Access in February that she wasn’t too keen on anyone else playing her character, Charlotte York, or any of the other iconic roles.

“I’m not having a discussion about any sort of prequel because I’m not for that,” she told Access at the time. “No. It’s just bizarre! “We’ve only been playing these characters for 15 years, I don’t really understand that concept.”
