Carly Rae Jepsen Reacts To U.S. Olympic Swim Team’s Call Me Maybe Video

Carly Rae Jepsen has seen the U.S. Olympic Swim Team’s video for her song, “Call Me Maybe,” and her verdict is in.

Surprisingly, she had not seen it before and the Canadian pop singer shared her first reaction to the clip, which features 17-year-old swimming phenom Missy Franklin dancing and lip syncing down an airplane aisle, with Access Hollywood.

“Oh wow!” Carly said, while watching the clip. “There’s an underwater swimmer. That’s impressive. I said underwater swimmer. I meant dancer!

“That’s made my day,” she added as she sat on the “America’s Got Talent” set with Owl City (their performance together airs on the August 22 episode). “That’s so rad.”

Carly said all the videos have been overwhelming – in a good way.

“It means the world to me. I think it’s just one of those things that you can’t totally take it in,” she said, still reflecting on the U.S. Olympic Swim Team’s version. “It’s crazy that they know the song and took the time to make their own spin on it. It just makes me really happy.”

The former “Canadian Idol” contender (she finished third) said there have been so many versions, but there are a couple that stand out in particular.

“Sesame Street – it just [doesn’t] get better!” she smiled.

“I can’t pick a favorite,” she added. “I think the one that remains close to my heart is the original Justin Bieber/Selena Gomez/Ashley Tisdale one – guys from Big Time Rush [were in it too] – because it was the video that kind of sparked this little adventure for me.”

Carly’s new album, “Kiss,” will be released on September 18.
