Chandra Wilson Returning To Broadway Roots In ‘Chicago’

Three-time Emmy nominee Chandra Wilson is returning to Broadway this summer. She’ll spend her four week hiatus from the hit ABC TV show on the Great White Way, slipping into the role of Matron “Mama” Morton in the long-running hit “Chicago.”

It’s the same role, which Queen Latifah played in the 2002 Oscar-winning film.

This will be Wilson’s first time on Broadway since “Grey’s” got its start in 2005. Last time she appeared on stage was in the Tony Kushner musical “Caroline, Or Change,” back in 2004.

And Access has learned that Chandra has already invited her “Grey’s Anatomy” pals to check out the show.

She starts on June 8 and her run continues through July 5.
