Channing Tatum Talks Magic Mike Movie Sequel; Will He Star In Broadway Version?

Attention, ladies (and gentlemen!) – Broadway is about to get an oiled-up dose of hot, sexy male strippers.

That’s right — according to “Magic Mike” star Channing Tatum — progress is indeed being made in the quest to bring the story to The Great White Way.

“We are doing the Broadway version [of ‘Magic Mike’],” Channing – whose real life turn as a stripper inspired the hunk-filled film — told Access Hollywood, with a smile at the premiere of his latest movie, “Side Effects,” in New York City.

Unfortunately, though Channing (rightly dubbed 2012’s Sexiest Man Alive) is heavily involved in bringing the steamy story to the stage, fans won’t get to see his particular brand of “Magic” in the musical – at least, not yet.

“I don’t think anybody wants to see me sing,” he told Access, when asked if he’ll perform on Broadway. “Give me some time to work on it and then maybe.”

Additionally, plans are definitely in the works for a “Magic Mike” movie sequel.

“Hopefully we’re gonna go to Miami and do the whole thing,” he said, of filming a follow-up film for the boys of “Xquisite” in Florida.

Whether the sequel gets made depends on whether Channing and writing/producing partner Reid Carolin can persuade their trusted “… Mike” director to get on board.

“We have to talk [Steven] Soderbergh into it. We can’t do it without our general!” he said, of why plans for a second movie seem to be somewhat stuck. “It’s scary. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
