Cher Defends Chaz Bono After Son Slammed For Joining ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Cher has leapt to the defense of son Chaz Bono after a host of angry “Dancing with the Stars” fans hit the show’s website and other online portals to protest casting the singer’s son on Season 13 of the show.

“lovelies!” Cher wrote on Twitter, addressing her faithful. “Chaz is Being Viciously Attacked on Blogs & Message boards about being on DWTS!This is Still America right ? It took guts 2 do it.”

The superstar said she stands by Chaz, and vouched for her son’s spirit to compete.

“I support him no matter what he chooses 2do! God! will there always be haters! It took COURAGE 2 do dwts ! TG Chaz has an Unlimited supply,” she Tweeted.

“Mothers don’t stop Getting angry with stupid bigots who (expletive) with their children” she added.

In mama bear mode, Cher continued her Twitter rant, noting Chaz, “is Such a Good Person inside lota heart.”

She went on to suggest that Chaz, who is dancing with professional partner Lacey Scwhimmer, will become one to watch as the season progresses.

”[I] bet VAST MAJORITY of People will LOVE CHAZ on DWTS ! & it’s took (expletive) Guts 2! Chaz isn’t exactly the ‘Gotta Dance Gotta Dance’kinda Guy,” she noted.

At the same time as Cher was Tweeting, a user who only registered as “Guest,” slammed ABC for casting the transgender celeb.

“WELL ABC YOU HAVE REACHED A NEW LOW WITH BONO, GOODBYE DWS, IT IS NO LONGER A FAMILY SHOW,” the unidentified user wrote.

As for Chaz, he was thrilled to have his mom’s support.

“Thanks for all your support mom,” Chaz Tweeted Cher back. “The haters are just motivating me to work harder and stay on DWTS as long as I possibly can.”
