Chris Brown Backs Out Of NBA All-Star Weekend

Chris Brown has backed out of his involvement with the NBA All-Star game this Sunday in Phoenix, Ariz., Access Hollywood has confirmed.

A spokesperson for the NBA confirmed the news.

“Chris Brown has withdrawn from NBA All-Star events,” the league spokesperson told Access.

Brown was scheduled to be a part of the All-Star player introductions, along with Phoenix Suns star Shaquille O’Neal and “America’s Best Dance Crew” winners Jabbawockeez.

The 19-year-old singer was arrested on Sunday and charged with felony criminal threats.

The charge stems from an alleged violent incident with a female passenger in his vehicle, who a source has identified to Access as his girlfriend and fellow pop superstar Rihanna.

The source said Brown allegedly hit Rihanna and bit her during the alleged incident, which happened around 12:30 AM on Sunday.

On Monday, Wrigley’s announced they were pulling Brown’s Doublemint gum ad until the matter was resolved.

“Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown,” a spokesperson for Wrigley’s told Access. “We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen. However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved.”
