Chris Brown’s Reps Deny Report He Used Teardrops To Cry At BET Awards

Chris Brown’s reps have denied reports that his crying on stage at the BET Awards was induced via the use of teardrops.

“Completely untrue,” the “Forever” singer’s reps told Access Hollywood.

On Sunday, Brown broke down on stage while performing “Man In The Mirror” as part of a medley in tribute to the late Michael Jackson, one of the 21-year-old’s idols.

A new report, however, surfaced on Us Weekly’s website on Thursday, quoting a witness who claimed to the magazine that Brown had used “tear-inducing eye drops” before his performance.

“He rubbed it in and he started crying,” the source told the mag.

The new report isn’t the first time Brown’s tears have been questioned.

“BedRock” singer Lloyd told Rap-Up.com on Sunday night he had told Brown, “Man, you gotta get up there. You gotta cry, you gotta really show your heart to the world,” a comment that prompted questions from some corners over whether Brown had faked the tears.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, on Tuesday, Lloyd took to his blog to clarify his comments and defend his friend.

“I consider Chris a friend. He’s been through a lot in the past couple years. I never told him to go onstage and cry,” Lloyd wrote earlier this week. “We spoke recently, and I told him as a friend that people hadn’t really seen him be vulnerable about his situation last year [with Rihanna]. I thought he was holding back and needed to let that emotion out. Him crying at the BET Awards was real, I could feel it.”
