Chris Cornell Leaves Audioslave

LOS ANGELES (February 15, 2007) — Rocker Chris Cornell has parted ways with Audioslave, it was confirmed today.Speculation emerged late last year that Cornell was on the outs with the supergroup when he recorded the anthem, ?You Know My Name,? for the James Bond installment ?Casino Royale.? Rumors continued over the fate of the band when it was announced last month that three-fourths of Audioslave were returning to their roots, as members of Rage Against the Machine for an appearance at California music festival Coachella. The parting appears to be a strained one.?Due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences, I am permanently leaving the band Audioslave,? Cornell said in a statement. ?I wish the other three members nothing but the best in all of their future endeavors.?So what will the blue-eyed singer do next? Word comes that Cornell has teamed up with U2 producer Steve Lillywhite for a new album, Carry On. The fourteen track effort will feature his Bond song as well as cuts ?Scar On the Sky,? ?Arms Around Your Love,? and ?Silence the Voices.??The most exciting thing is to let yourself expose your true, vulnerable feelings, which is what resonates with people most,? Cornell said of the inspiration behind his new material.”
