Chrissy Teigen Slams Nicole Arbour’s ‘Dear Fat People’ Video

Chrissy Teigen has joined the backlash against Nicole Arbour’s “Dear Fat People” rant.

The model, 29, addressed the controversial video in an interview with People Now on Thursday, and said the disgraced social media personality was not only being “mean unnecessarily,” but also helped perpetuate the very negativity she claimed doesn’t exist.

“Yes, Nicole, there is such a thing as fat-shaming,” Chrissy said, “and you’re doing it right now.”

Nicole posted the six-minute clip to her YouTube page on Sept. 3 and immediately ignited an outcry with such remarks as, “I don’t feel bad for you because you are taking your body for granted. … What are you going to do, fat people? What are you going to do? You going to chase me? I can get away from you by walking at a reasonable pace.”

Chrissy went on to say that “the worst part” about the scandal is that the attention it’s receiving is only making Nicole’s spotlight brighter.

“This has just made her head even bigger, somehow,” the “FABLife” co-host said.

“She is living for this moment … We’ve just given her this platform to feel like her opinion does matter. So, no matter if we’re talking negatively about it or positively, she’s winning.”

In an interview with Time posted on Thursday, Nicole stood by her tirade and what she considers its satirical message.

“I feel it’s really important that we make fun of everybody,” she told the mag. “I think [what] brings us together and unites us as people is that we can poke fun at all of us.”

She continued, “I’m not apologizing for this video, but if someone got something from it, then that’s great, fantastic. Comedy with a message, let’s do it.”
