Christopher Nolan: Anne Hathaway Should Get A Catwoman Spinoff

Christopher Nolan says he’s done with Gotham’s iconic characters now that “The Dark Knight Rises” is set to debut, but the director thinks Anne Hathaway should continue on with the role of Catwoman/Selina Kyle.

“Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She’s really built it from the ground up, it’s just a delight to watch her perform,” the director told Access Hollywood this weekend at the press junket for “The Dark Knight Rises.” “The things she does in those heels is not to be taken lightly.

“She’s an incredible character and we’re very excited to see her and hopefully we’ll leave people wanting more,” he continued.

But does leaving fans wanting more mean the director would possibly helm a Catwoman spinoff?

“For me, Gotham and these characters, I’m done. I’ve told our story and I’m moving on,” he told Access, explaining that he’d love to see Anne play the character again under another director’s guidance. “I certainly think she deserves it, she’s incredible.”

The director was also quick to squash any notion of a fourth installment in his Batman franchise.

“I’m done, we’ve been working on this for about nine years,” he told Access. “I’ve really, really enjoyed it. It’s really exciting to get to the end and I’ve got to move on and figure out something else to do.”

“The Dark Knight Rises” hits theaters on July 20.
