‘Community’s’ Ken Jeong Dishes On Playing Bruce Willis In ‘Pulp Fiction’ Homage Episode: ‘I Could Not Be A Worser Guy To Play Bruce’

Ken Jeong brings the laughs as the pitiable Senor Chang on NBC’s “Community” and the actor says the show’s upcoming “Pulp Fiction”-themed episode will not disappoint as he takes on the beloved Butch — originally made famous by Bruce Willis in the 1994 cult classic.

“The whole thing’s an homage to ‘Pulp Fiction,’” Ken told Access Hollywood of “Community’s” upcoming episode, at the premiere of Brooke Shields’ play, “Girls Talk,” in LA on Friday. “My character really can’t afford a good Bruce Willis costume so he gets like, the worst skin cap ever and he just literally — with a Sharpie — [draws on] some flecks of hair.”

Joining Ken in the Tarantino tribute will be series stars Joel McHale as John Travolta, Gillian Jacobs as Uma Thurman, Chevy Chase as Ving Rhames and Yvette Nicole Brown as fan favorite Samuel Jackson – and the hilarity of the unlikely castings has not been lost on the hit comedy’s actors.

“I could not be a worser [sic] guy to play Bruce Willis in ‘Pulp Fiction,’” Ken told Access, laughing. “So it was oddly perfect!”

The 41-year-old funnyman also cautioned that the rest of Chang’s “Butch” costume is not much better than his homemade skullcap.

“[There] wasn’t much [of a wardrobe] — just my beer gut hanging out of my trunks,” Ken told Access. “That’s pretty much it. Keepin’ it real… like too real.

“Should be fake!” he added with a laugh.

In addition to his work on “Community,” Ken confirmed to Access that he will reprise his role as flamboyant Vegas gangster Leslie Chow in the highly anticipated sequel to “The Hangover” – though he said the cast is sworn to secrecy on the details of the Bangkok-based continuation.

“Yes, I’ll be in ‘The Hangover 2’ — that’s all I can say,” Ken told Access. “I just can’t say anything unfortunately, except that it’s going to be funnier and better.”

Catch “Community’s” tribute to “Pulp Fiction” when the episode airs on March 24 at 8 PM on NBC.

“The Hangover 2” — also starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zack Galifianakis and Liam Neeson — will hit theaters on May 26.
