Connie Britton Talks Friday Night Lights Movie: ‘I Would Love It’

“Friday Night Lights” fans aren’t the only people who’d like to see the book-turned-movie-turned-TV show reimagined as a new film.

Connie Britton, who played the beloved Tami Taylor (wife of Kyle Chandler’s Coach Eric Taylor) on the series, says she’s hoping the rumored film will soon become a reality.

“I would love it to happen,” Connie, who now stars as country queen Rayna James on ABC’s “Nashville,” told E!. “I’m a big supporter of it happening. I don’t know if we will see it or not.”

The actress said “FNL” writer/director Peter Berg is definitely working on making it happen.

“I know [the screenplay] was being written and Peter Berg is really serious about it,” she said. “So I think if everybody got on board, I don’t see why we couldn’t have a movie.”

If the movie does get made, one character may not return — heartthrob Tim Riggins (played by Taylor Kitsch).

In a 2012 interview, the he fully supports an “FNL” movie, but isn’t sure he wants to mess with Tim’s storyline.

“Pete [Berg] knows this as much as anyone else — I love the way that we ended the character of where he’s at,” the actor explained at the time. “I love playing him, but I think I want to leave him the way that it is.”
