Dallas Scoop: Jesse Metcalfe Teases Changes For Christopher Ewing, Talks Emmys Larry Hagman Controversy

“Dallas” Season 3 is about begin shooting and Jesse Metcalfe finally has some tantalizing details to share about what’s on the way for his character, Christopher Ewing.

“I finally got a little bit of information because everyone was asking me, ‘What’s in store for your character?’ ‘What’s coming up next in Season 3?’ and I had nothing,” Jesse told Access Hollywood as he stepped out at HBO’s post Emmy Awards bash in West Hollywood on Sunday night. “But now I know that Christopher’s getting a new love interest. So that’s pretty exciting for me.”

Jesse is just days away — three, in fact — before he heads back to Southfork to shoot Season 3 of the show.

It will be the show’s first season without Larry Hagman as part of the cast. The legendary actor passed away last November while Season 2 was in full swing.

Larry was one of the celebrities who, despite his great contributions to television, was not honored with a special break out honor at the Emmys, something that has caused controversy because one of the five segments did feature “Glee” star Cory Monteith. Larry was featured in the overall “In Memoriam” piece.

Jesse said he would have liked to have seen his late co-star, who also starred in “I Dream of Jeannie,” feature more in Sunday’s broadcast.

“Obviously I certainly thought that Larry Hagman should have had a special tribute in that five that were honored. I mean… he’s an iconic TV actor and not many people have made a character as famous as he did, so I thought he was sort of passed over a bit,” Jesse said.

As for his thoughts on the new memorial feature, Jesse said he felt they were “moving.”

“I thought it was very moving, I thought it was very heartfelt, I just wanted to see a friend and someone who deserved to be honored get honored,” he said.
