Your teen TV guilty pleasure will live on!
The cast of ‘Degrassi’ (CTV)
After breaking the hearts of fans last week with the announcement that “Degrassi” was ending after 14 years, Netflix has announced the beloved (it goes there!) series will continue on Netflix.
“‘Degrassi’ graduates to Netflix. Meet the Next Class, coming in 2016,” the streaming service announced on Tuesday.

The series will reportedly get 20 episodes on Netflix – that’s 20 episodes of possible shootings, drugs, pregnancies, rape, eating disorders, self-harming, coming outs and born-again virginity… to name a few past issues the show has tackled.

Famous names to rise from the halls of “Degrassi” include Drake (Jimmy Brooks), Shenae Grimes (Darcy Edwards) and Nina Dobrev (Mia Jones).
The final 12 TeenNick episodes will begin airing on July 20, with an hour-long special and new episodes airing weeknights at 9PM ET/PT for two weeks.
