Demi Moore Talks ‘Jersey Shore,’ Being A Puma & Loving Getting Older

Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t the only Hollywood superstar to have fallen for MTV reality show “Jersey Shore.” Demi Moore is down with the GTL too.

“It’s an accident waiting to happen, and so you can’t not look,” the actress told Harper’s Bazaar for their latest issue about the show, several cast members of which have coined the catchphrase referring to G – gym, T– tan and L — laundry.

And like Nikki “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, in some circles, Demi has her own nickname – puma!

“It has a sweeter quality, more elegant,” Demi said of the cat-like moniker she choose to accept instead of cougar, a reference to her being 47 and her husband, Ashton Kutcher, being 32.

But even branding herself a puma hasn’t been easy.

“Somebody said to me, ‘Pumas are only for people in their 30s,” Demi told the mag.

Another person went even further, she explains, using Demi’s favorite social networking medium – Twitter – to lash out at her moniker choice.

“Somebody really offended me on Twitter by saying, ‘How is that better, switching from one predator to another?’” the actress recounted. “I wrote back, saying it’s important to keep your sense of humor.”

Less humorous for the actress was the recent photo controversy related to W magazine, for which she appeared on the cover of last year. Some reports suggested the cover was retouched improperly leaving her without the natural line from her hip to her leg – something Demi, the mag and the photographers from the shoot have all denied.

“OK, that is literally my shape,” Demi told Harper’s.

“Actually, somebody sent me an image I retweeted on Twitter,” Demi continued. “It was this beautiful marble statue, and the body position was exactly the same as what I was doing. This person had outlined how the hip goes in and the leg goes out.”

Beyond the photos, Twitter and nicknames, Demi also opened up about getting older, something she said she is enjoying.

“I feel better in my skin, 100 percent,” she said. “That’s the tradeoff. You have greater effects of gravity, but the better sense of yourself you have is something I wouldn’t trade. Women who lie about their age — why?”
