‘Dexter’ Star Michael C. Hall Marries TV Sister

On “Dexter,” Michael C. Hall’s sister, Deb (played by Jennifer Carpenter), was the “Best Man” at his TV wedding during the show’s Season Three finale.

But in real life, Carpenter played a very different role in Hall’s wedding – his bride.

The TV brother and sister are newlyweds, a rep for Hall revealed on Friday.

Craig Bankey, the actor’s rep, told Access Hollywood the couple eloped in Big Sur, Calif., on New Year’s Eve.

Hall, 37, and Carpenter, 29, have been dating quietly for a year-and-a-half.

During the wedding ceremony, Carpenter had her grandfather’s wedding band attached to her bouquet of white roses, Bankey told Access.

“While not in attendance, family and loved ones shared in a celebratory toast to the couple,” Bankey added.

On Sunday, the new bride and groom will walk the Golden Globes red carpet together for the first time as a couple, Bankey added.

And the couple may find even more reason to celebrate on Sunday night. Hall is up for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his title role in “Dexter,” and the show is nominated for Best Drama Series.

Access spoke with Hall and Carpenter’s co-star, Julie Benz (who plays Hall’s wife on “Dexter”), on Friday to get her reaction to the news.

“They’re a great couple and great friends to me. I wish them all the best,” Benz told Access. “I know that they are madly in love.”

In fact, Benz may want to try her hand at matchmaking if she ever decided to stop acting.

“I kind of always thought they should date. I was always saying, ‘You two should go out.’ I felt that there was a connection between the two of them. They’ve always had a special relationship,” Benz added.
