Diddy Saves Harlem Boys & Girls Club With Sizeable Donation

The Boys & Girls Club of Harlem announced on Tuesday that business magnate and entertainer Sean Combs, better known as Diddy, made a sizeable contribution to their organization, allowing the program to keep its doors open.

“Mr. Combs’ contribution comes at a time when we were faced with the possibility of eliminating existing programs and/or club sites. 100% of Mr. Combs’ contribution will go directly to the young people, and provide educational, recreational and social enrichment programs allowing us to move forward as a club, uninterrupted,” Boys & Girls Club board member Willie C. Bentley, Jr. said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Wednesday.

The generous donation – which Access has learned was more than $50,000 — by Diddy, who is a Harlem native, will be applied toward the organization’s operation budget, which “has been under tremendous pressure due to enormous shifts in federal, state and private funding,” according to a press release from the organization.
