Dish Of Salt: Monday TV Round Up (MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ In The House!)

“Shore” Baby!
This morning I got a visit from three of the cast members from MTV’s reality show “Jersey Shore.” Nicole Polizzi aka “Snookie,” Pauly DelVecchio and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino stopped by to chat about the sucker punch incident, their new-found fame and all that hooking up they do during the show. I might be slightly horrified by the debauchery going on in this show, (especially in the hot tub!) but needless to say they were all quite entertaining.

Of course, the first thing I had to do was check out Pauly’s hair. It’s so hard you could eat dinner off of it. Its like a plate! I played mother hen with the group and gave them flack for their over tanning. I’m all about the SPF! I also wanted to know how their parents feel about all the making out they do in front of the cameras (again, especially in the hot tub!). They guys said their parents are used to it, but Snookie told me her dad had to do shots this week in order to get through the episode. I asked her if she would pose for Playboy and she gave me quick “no.” Dad might have to drink an entire keg of beer to handle that one! However, Pauly and Mike said they would be open to posing for Playgirl as long as there is money involved and lots of it. Not that they need any more attention, both guys told me their phones and Facebook pages have been blowing up with girls trying to contact them. Snookie says most of the guys trying to contact her are ones who think she is a party girl based on what they saw on the show. However, she tells me she wants to find a good guy and settle down. She has a timeline. She wants to be married and have kids by the age of 25. She’s 22. Playing mother hen again I told her not to get married until she is at least 30. She laughs, looks right at me and says, “30? I wanna be a MILF!” What a character!

Ratings for the show have been on a steady incline and the cast met “The Hills” star Kristen Cavillari over the weekend and they claim she admitted to them that her show was dying while there’s was flying. Hey, I’m all for a new “Hills” style group of misfits to hit the Hollywood scene if it means Heidi and Spencer will finally go away!

Jennifer Lopez On “SYTYCD”
In her first ever appearance on the reality competition, Jennifer Lopez will show off her own dance moves when she performs on Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” finale on Wednesday, December 16. She’ll perform her latest single, “Louboutins.” Lopez got her start dancing as a Fly Girl on the FOX sketch comedy show “In Living Color.” Mary J. Blige is also set to perform as well as Leona Lewis and “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert. The show will crown America’s favorite dancer and the winner will dance off with $250,000. I’ll be backstage with all the action on Wednesday night.

Also, today on QVC Cat Deeley, the adorable host of “So You Think You Can Dance” debuts her jewelry collection created exclusively for the network. She’s unveiling the first piece from her new line – The Cat Deeley’s Faceted Finale Necklace, which retails for $70.00. Cat knows a little something about fashion. She is her own stylist on the show and picks out all her own clothes for it.

During the special, Ramsay will guide his guests through a step-by-step meal preparation on three easy dishes — angel hair pasta with shrimp, chili peppers and tomatoes, steak Diane with sauteed potatoes and tiramisu for dessert. Viewers watching at home can “Cookalong” with the show. You can check out the shopping list of ingredients you’ll need HERE. Set me a place at the table!

“Dexter” Delivers
(SPOILER alert! Stop reading you haven’t yet watched the season finale)

“Born in blood.” — Talk about coming full circle! The fourth season of Showtime’s “Dexter” came to a shocking conclusion on Sunday night’s finale, as fans saw an instant transformation from serial killer – to single dad / serial killer. After a tense battle of the wits with the Trinity killer – John Lithgow – it appears everyone’s favorite crime-fighting murderer, Dexter Morgan, has finally gotten his man and all is right in Miami. That is, of course, until Dexter returns home after finishing off Trinity only to find wife Rita in a bathtub of blood, with infant son Harrison sitting on the floor in a pool of mom’s blood – Trinity’s final victim. The scene of poor lil’ Harrison crying was, of course, a clear parallel to when Harry found Dexter as a young boy, inside the shipping crate where his mother had been butchered. What comes next for Dex? Will he be able to balance his “dark passenger” with being a single father of three? Is Rita truly gone (dream sequence, anyone?)? Will Harrison now grow up wanting to kill bad guys too?!? And what diabolical evil genius will follow in the footsteps of the Ice Truck Killer, crazy Lila, Miguel Prado and now Trinity? We won’t know until Showtime returns with Season 5. But what we do know is a whole lotta folks tuned in for Sunday’s finale – more than 3 million viewers tuned in, making it the most watched show in the cable channel’s history!

YouTube Star Turned Movie Star
YouTube sensation Lucas Cruikshank, the star of the YouTube series “Fred” is taking his wildly popular Web-based show to the big screen. Filming is currently underway on “Fred The Movie.” Lucas, a 15-year-old from a small town in Nebraska created the character of Fred when he was 13. “Fred” has now become the number one subscribed channel in YouTube history with over 405 million views and 1.4 million subscribers. The idea for “Fred” began as a parody of Lucas’ two younger brothers. The fictional character’s hard-knock life is based on purely imagined events of a not so typical 6-year-old. Lucas writes, directs and performs all the characters in “Fred.” Hollywood has begun to take notice of this Internet star. Lucas has appeared as a character on “iCarly” and will appear in an upcoming episode of “Hannah Montana.” In August of 2009 Lucas took top honors as Favorite Web Star at The Teen Choice Awards for his role as Fred Figglehorn, beating out Ashton Kutcher, Will Ferrell, Perez Hilton and Andy Samberg.
