Emilia Clarke On Dany’s Game Of Thrones Dragons: ‘They’re Misbehaving In A Great Way’

Beware of the dragons in “Game of Thrones” Season 3!

Emilia Clarke hinted Daenerys Targaryen’s babies aren’t so little anymore.

“They’ve hit their adolescence,” she told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman on the “GOT” Season 3 premiere red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Monday night. “They’re figuring out how everything works and what they should and shouldn’t be doing.

“They like to break the rules a little bit,” Emilia added. “They’re kind of – they’re misbehaving in a great way.”

When Laura asked if fans can expect more carnage from Dany’s dragons in the upcoming season (they helped her escape the House of the Undying in Season 2 by breathing fire), Emilia nodded.

“That’s an understatement,” she teased.

As the promos for Season 3 have shown, Dany could be closer to finally getting the army she needs to reclaim the Seven Kingdoms, and Emilia said filming scenes in front of some mighty forces felt powerful.

“It’s crazy and I felt very much how I imagined she felt. Like it’s hard not to feel in awe of being in front of that many people and getting to shout orders in another language,” Emilia said. “It’s really fun.”

Emilia hit the “GOT” bash in LA in a strapless, blue Victoria Beckham dress, and viewers can expect to see her character also taking advantage of gorgeous fashions this season on her hit HBO series.

“Dany gets some seriously beautiful costumes throughout Season 3 and more and more she’s kind of developing her own style and kind of taking matters into her own hands and it’s proving to be quite fruitful,” Emilia said.

Fashion, dragons and armies – Emilia said she is having so much fun playing Dany for the expansive character arcs that come with each season.

“She’s going from strength to strength. I’m just so lucky. People are always kind of like, ‘How does it feel being a character on a television show?’ And I’m like every season it’s like a new character with me, with Dany. She keeps evolving and growing, and yet, it’s just so wonderful,” Emilia said.

“Game of Thrones” Season 3 premieres on March 31 at 9 PM on HBO.
