Emily VanCamp: Revenge Finale Is ‘Intense,’ ‘Mind Blowing’

“Revenge” wraps up its first season on May 23 on ABC, and series star Emily VanCamp said the surprises in store for the finale are off the charts.

“It’s like a 25,” Emily told Access Hollywood correspondent Jill Martin at the ABC Upfronts party in New York City on Tuesday, when asked how intense the episode is on a scale of 1 to 10.

“It’s so intense [that] even reading it was just mind blowing,” Emily continued. “It’s not one cliffhanger, it’s not two cliffhangers, it’s like five cliffhangers. I don’t know how they fit [in] that much, to be honest.”

In the show, Emily plays Emily Thorne, who is hiding her real identity (Amanda Clarke) as she seeks to carry out revenge against the wealthy and devious Grayson family, who framed her father, David Clarke, for a terrorist act, and appear to have been behind his death in prison.

Hinting at what’s to come next week, the actress said there will be many thrilling twists.

“You’re gonna be questioning whether certain people are alive or dead,” she said. “Someone comes back to town who’s not really welcome, with a big surprise. There’s just a lot coming up.”

“Revenge” will move to Sunday nights at 9 PM in the fall, the slot previously occupied on the network by “Desperate Housewives,” and Emily can’t wait.

“I’m very excited about it,” she said of the Wednesday-to-Sunday timeslot jump. “I think we’ve got really big shoes to fill with ‘Desperate Housewives’ being finished, but I think we can do it and I think we’ve got a really loyal, awesome fan base at the moment, and I think, hopefully, they’ll follow us and it’ll be a good night.”
