An anesthesia expert has resumed testifying for the doctor charged in Michael Jackson’s death and has challenged some of the prosecution theories about the events leading up to the singer’s death.
Dr. Paul White is an expert in the anesthetic propofol, which Dr. Conrad Murray was giving Jackson as a sleep aid.
White says Jackson shouldn’t have stopped breathing and should have awakened based on the levels of sedatives and propofol that Murray told police he gave the singer.
White says a prosecution expert didn’t consider the levels of the sedative lorazepam that Jackson may have accumulated in his body in the days before his June 2009 death.
Prosecutors in Los Angeles contend Murray gave Jackson propofol, more propofol than he told police.
Murray pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
