This is the true story… of a former MTV “Real World” participant who is now a member of the U.S. Congress.
Former “The Real World: Boston” cast member Sean Duffy won a House seat on Tuesday in his home state of Wisconsin, according to The Wausau Daily Herald.
“What a great night in Wisconsin,” Duffy belted, as he took the stage at a victory party in Wausau shortly before midnight to thank his supporters, according to The Herald.
Duffy, a 39-year-old Republican, previously held the title of District Attorney for Wisconsin’s Ashland County.
Fans of “The Real World” will remember Duffy as the conservative roommate in the Boston firehouse, who often clashed with his liberal counterparts.
After his stint on “The Real World,” Duffy joined the cast of “Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Battle of the Seasons” in 2002. In addition, he has also worked as an occasional commentator for ESPN.
Duffy is married to former “The Real World: San Francisco” cast member Rachel Campos-Duffy. The couple – who tied the knot in 1999 — has six children together.
Campos-Duffy has appeared as a guest host on “The View” and was in the running for the permanent co-host gig in 2002, which eventually went to Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
