Former ‘Runway’ Finalist Rami Kashou To Design Gay Prom Dress For Margaret Cho On ‘Drop Dead Diva’

“Project Runway” Season 4 finalist and fan favorite Rami Kashou will be designing a one-of-a-kind gown for “Drop Dead Diva” star Margaret Cho for their very special upcoming gay prom episode, Access Hollywood has learned. The episode will be inspired by the real-life story of Constance McMillen’s same-sex prom ban.

Guest stars on the episode will include real-life LGBT celebrities and activists, including former *NSYNC member Lance Bass, “American Idol” alum and singer Clay Aiken, actress & comedienne Wanda Sykes, “Married…. with Children” star Amanda Bearse will appear. Constance McMillen herself will have a cameo in the show as Sykes’ bailiff.

Creator & executive producer Josh Berman told Access, “A ‘Drop Dead Diva’ prom needs a drop dead gorgeous prom dress — and who better to create it than the unique and innovative Rami Kashou? Who better to wear it than the unique and innovative Margaret Cho? I can’t wait to see his creation!”

“I am a big fan of Margaret Cho and wanted to create a design as fun and vibrant as her personality through the color,” Kashoú himself told Access. “The dress outlines her figure through delicate lines created from the bias that exude a feminine and romantic mood with edge. My passion and love is in dresses and evening wear and it’s such a pleasure to be dressing Margaret’s character on such a fabulous show as ‘Drop Dead Diva’!”

In the episode, Jane (Brooke Elliott) brings the case of two teenage lesbians, who were banned from attending their prom, before a judge. Ultimately, she and her colleagues, including her assistant Teri (Margaret Cho), come up with a creative solution to the case.

Season 3 of “Drop Dead Diva” returns this June with previously announced guest stars Kathy Griffin, LeAnn Rimes, Wendy Williams, Paula Abdul, Louis Van Amstel, Nick Zano, Mario Lopez, Tony Goldwyn, Jennifer Tilly and Howard Hesseman.
