It’s clear eyes, broken hearts, you will lose for “Friday Night Lights” fans.
After years of speculation that suggested fans might see the Dillon Panthers (or the East Dillon Lions) once again, executive producer Peter Berg appears to have officially intercepted any possibility of a big screen version of the beloved TV series.
“There’s not gonna be a movie. We talked about it. Some people thought it was a good idea, some didn’t,” he told Collider. “I’ve come to believe it’s probably not a good idea and I seriously doubt it’s gonna happen.”

Taylor Kitsch, who starred as Tim Riggins, also squashed the idea of taking the show’s small town Texas football world to the big screen.
”[I’d] just say no,” he recently Vulture when asked about possibly joining the project. “No, period. I’m not doing it. I’m never gonna be in that movie. There was already a movie! And the show ended f**king spot-on. We’re good.”
The series, which ran until 2011 on NBC and DirecTV starred Connie Britton, Kyle Chandler, Minka Kelly, Zach Gilford, Michael B. Jordan, Aimee Teegarden, Adrianne Palicki, Scott Porter, Madison Burge and Jurnee Smollett.
The 2004 film version starred Billy Bob Thornton, Jay Hernandez, Connie Britton, Amber Heard and Garrett Hedlund.
