‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 2: Tom Wlaschiha As Jaqen H’ghar First Look – Exclusive Photo

He’s one of the most unique new characters joining HBO’s “Game of Thrones” Season 2, and today, Access Hollywood has the exclusive first look at the mysterious Jaqen H’ghar.

Played by German actor Tom Wlaschiha, Jaqen enters the life of a boyishly-disguised Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), as she hides from the Lannisters among a band of King’s Landing leftovers and criminals bound for the Night’s Watch.

“At the beginning, Arya doesn’t trust him at all because he’s a convict, he’s being taken to The Wall as a prisoner and then something attracts her to him,” in a recent interview, hinting at his upcoming storyline.

And the actor admitted he was intrigued by the part from the first time he saw a small brief about Jaqen on paper.

“I said, ‘That’s really weird — a character who talks of himself in the third person,’” Tom recalled. “I had no idea what to make of this.”

As seen in the Access exclusive, Jaqen has the two-toned red and white hair, which author George R.R. Martin described in his “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of books the HBO show is based on.

“I think they did an incredible job – [the] makeup people. I thought it [looked] perfectly natural,” Tom said of his “GOT” coif.

Tom’s co-star, 14-year-old Maisie, told Access she figured out just who he would be playing not long after they first met on the Belfast, Northern Ireland, set.

“I think it was when I was gonna go and get my wig done last season, was when I first met Tom,” Maisie said. “He came in and I knew he was from ‘Game of Thrones’ just ‘cause he had that look about him, and he looked really mysterious.

“He came in and introduced himself and later on, we Googled him and saw a bit more about him and we kind of put two and two together and realized that maybe he was going to be playing Jaqen,” she said.
