Seth Meyers learned a valuable lesson on Thursday night –
don’t invite Melisandre from “Game of Thrones” to your baby shower.
The “Late Night with Seth Meyers” host had his pal
Carice van Houten play her “Thrones” character in a skit where they
imagined what it would be like if Melisandre attended a baby shower for the
host and his pregnant wife, Alexi Ashe.
Let’s just say that Melisandre knows how to ruin a party.
But, while she failed at trying to share an inspirational message with Alexi and Seth (“clutch your child close to your breast, woman, for the night is dark and full of terrors”), gave a really inappropriate baby gift (a Valyrian steel baby rattle-sword), and tried to seduce her party host, Melisandre did touch on the plot twist fans have been waiting almost a year to find out the resolution to on the HBO show – whether Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is really dead.
“There is someone I work with I like,” Melisandre told Seth and Alexi’s party guests when the topic of romance came up. “His name is Jon Snow, but I’m, not really sure he’s the right guy.”
“Why not?” one of the women at the shower asked.
“I’m pretty sure he’s dead,” Melisandre replied, a comment that piqued Seth’s interest.
“Pretty sure he’s dead?” Seth asked.
“Well, at least that’s the way it was left,” she answered.
