“The Larry Sanders Show” told the behind-the-scenes
story of a fictional late night talk show and its colorful host and production
staff. It’s considered an influential predecessor to similarly self-aware
comedies like “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Louie,” and
“Arrested Development.”

Shandling’s most recent project was a January guest
appearance on Jerry Seinfeld’s Web series “Comedians in Cars Getting
Coffee.”
