George Clooney Reveals Connection To Tony Bennett: I Used To Be His Driver

George Clooney may be one of Hollywood’s most sought-after leading men these days, but he was once behind the wheel, serving as the driver for legendary crooner Tony Bennett.

The revelation came in front of Access Hollywood’s cameras on Sunday’s Oscars red carpet, when the two stars bumped into each other and George introduced girlfriend Stacy Keibler to the singing legend.

“Tony, this is Stacy,” George said to Tony, as he presented his gorgeous girlfriend.

“I was his driver when I was 19,” George added, telling Stacy.

When Access’ Billy Bush asked about the revelation, George elaborated further.

“I did [serve as his driver] – for about three weeks,” George told Billy.

Billy went on to ask Tony about George’s behind-the-wheels skills when the Oscar nominee chimed in.

“He doesn’t remember,” George said. “I was Rosemary’s [Clooney] nephew.”

“He was very good,” Tony chimed in, finally revealing that George connected the dots for him previously.

“He had to tell me about it many years later,” Tony explained. “He actually drove me somewhere and I didn’t know who he was.”

“I’ll still drive you anywhere you wanna go,” George added, before dashing off.

Before he departed, Access caught a precious moment between the two.

“I’m so proud of you,” Tony said to George. “You’re doing everything right.”
