Gigi Hadid Gives Update On Mom Yolanda Foster’s Health

Yolanda Foster’s battle with Lyme disease recently took a turn for the worse and her daughter, Gigi Hadid, has provided Access Hollywood with an update.

Gigi spoke to Access on Thursday night in Los Angeles at the First Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards, where she was honored as Model of the Year by The Daily Front Row.

“She had a small procedure a couple of days ago and can’t be here, but I’m doing it all for her and I know that she’ll be able to come to things soon,” Gigi told Access of her mother’s treatment . “She’s still being treated in Asia, but she comes back hopefully at the end of this weekend.”

Yolanda alarmed fans of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in a recent blog post about the state of her health.

“I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can’t process information or any stimulation for that matter. It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it,” Yolanda wrote.

Gigi told Access she encouraged her mom to write from the heart.

“She called me last week and she’s like, ‘I have to write my blog,’ for her show and she’s like, ‘I can’t do it. Like I can’t even watch the show and it hurts’ and I was like, ‘Just be honest, you know,'” Gigi explained. “And that’s what she did for her last blog, was just open up and was like, ‘I’m just gonna tell you guys it’s hard for me’ and she had to have someone else, you know, write it, but I think doing that is better than trying to fake it and it’s only hurting her, but then she’s not putting out a good blog, you know, for the fans and the readers and I think that they want to see that real side of her life. And there’s a lot of Lyme, you know, patients that are reading that… understand where she’s coming from and also so happy that they can have someone to relate to.”

While her mom is on the opposite side of world receiving care, Gigi told Access she’s keeping her in the loop.

“We’re trying to stay strong for her mostly and be positive and keep her in touch and I was FaceTiming with her while I was getting ready today,” Gigi said. “We wanna help her feel like she’s not too far away ’cause I know it’s lonely over there.”
