Glam Slam: Makeup Mondays — Fall Nail Trends

Trendsetter Rachel Bilson “nailed it” when she flashed mint green nails at a recent Chanel event in New York. The limited edition “Jade” nail enamel was created for the Chanel Ready-To-Wear Autumn/Winter runway show and the shade has already become a fashionista must have.

We got the break down (without breaking a nail, of course!) of other Fall nail trends from Dana Caruso, Celebrity Manicurist and Sally Hansen Nail Expert, who has worked on Mariah Carey, Heidi Montag and Molly Sims.

INDUSTRIAL METALLIC
Get this look by shaping the nail in a squoval (slightly square and semi-oval corners) free edge that is no more than a millimeter in length paired with concrete gray, midnight black and deepest plum all, which contain silvery metallic microparticles of color. Shade Choice: Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen in Opulent Cloud.

HAUTE COUTURE
This look is achieved by a longer length nail approximately an inch, oval in shape and polishing the underside with a very deep and deep vibrant red like Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Red Creme. This color looks like the bottom of the very well known shoe that catches everyone’s eye.

EDGE
This look is all about applying different textures to the nail plate. Fabrics and/or decorated adhesive nail shaped (pre-cut) strips are applied to the nail from the sheerest of silks to the boldest animal prints, designs and colors. Completely customizable, it can compliment any look of your newest gown or the seasons hottest design.

GIRLY CHIC
This look is worn on a very oval shaped nail that is polished with a frosty fuchsia, frosty lavender, frosty lime green and frosty turquoise polish all consisting of high pigment, multi dimensional reflective color and shine.
