Glee Project Winner Blake Jenner ‘So Excited’ To Join Show, Talks Jim Carrey Fan Letter

It was months ago that Blake Jenner actually scooped the Season 2 “Glee Project” title and he’s eagerly awaiting his first “Glee” script.

“It’s gonna be really exciting. I can’t wait,” the 19-year-old (he turns 20 later this month) actor told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman when he stopped by on Thursday about his impending debut on the FOX show, now entering its fourth season.

And he already has a hint that romance is in his yet-unnamed character’s future, thanks to an Internet post from “Glee” showrunner Ryan Murphy.

“I know that the night of the finale, Ryan Tweeted, ‘Who will win the Glee Project Season 2? Writing such a great role for the winner, just wait ‘til you see who they’re dating.’ And I was like, ‘I’m dating someone?’ I was like, ‘That’s far out.’ I can’t wait.

Blake has no particular preference for his upcoming love interest, but not surprisingly, the “Glee” superfan had a few ideas.

“It’d be amazing to have a storyline with Sugar [played by actress Vanessa Lengies]. I think she’s really, really funny on the show. And the character Tina [played by Jenna Ushkowitz],” Blake told Access’ Laura. “Any of the girls [would be] amazing. Having a relationship with Heather Morris’ character, [Brittany], would be funny just because she’s such a good dancer and I’m so not, so I mean, it would be funny.”

There was plenty of talk on the “Glee” project comparing Blake’s performance personality and athletic physique to the show’s resident jock – Finn Hudson, played by Cory Monteith.

“Finn is honestly my favorite character on ‘Glee,’ so I would hate to be like a carbon copy of Finn. I know that they’re not making me just like Finn No. 2, but I’d love to be that go-to guy in the choir room, because that’s who I was in high school,” Blake said of how he hopes his character turns out.

Winning “The Glee Project” was the culmination of a lifelong dream of acting, something that was sparked when he was a young boy, watching stars like Jim Carrey.

Blake even admitted he once penned a fan letter to the famed funnyman.

“I wrote a letter to Jim Carrey when I was young… ‘People tell me I’m like an exact copy of you’ and all this stuff. But I never got a response,” Blake laughed. “I’m still waiting for the response.

“I can do ‘The Grinch’ face,” Blake said, showing off his impression in Access’ studio. “ I just love everything he does. And I love Ryan Reynolds too. He’s hilarious.”

Also hilarious? Blake’s Ryan impression, which he said he did for his pals on “The Glee Project” set.

Blake hasn’t yet hit the set of “Glee,” but he can’t wait.

“I’m just so excited,” he told Access’ Laura. “This is more than I could ever hope for.”
