Has Jon Voight Met Granddaughter Shiloh Yet?

BURBANK, Calif. (July 6, 2006) — Jon Voight opened up to Access Hollywood?s Nancy O’Dell about his new granddaughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt and reacted to his Emmy nomination on Thursday morning.

After Voight received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie for his portrayal of Pope Jon Paul II in the made for TV movie by the same name, he talked to Nancy about the excitement of his nomination and also of his new granddaughter.

When asked if he had already met Shiloh Nouvel, Voight said, “No, I haven’t yet, but I’m certainly looking forward to it and I hope things will smooth out in that direction.”

He added, “I certainly would’ve thought we would’ve returned to being able to express our love and devotion to each other before this, but it will be around the corner I’m sure.”

And has Jon spoken with daughter Angelina yet?

“No, I have not, but I hope to soon,” he revealed.

When asked about his thoughts on the couple having the baby in Namibia, Voight said, “They wanted to get away and just focus on the business of having a baby. And Angie and Brad have done a nice thing with helping people wherever they could in terms of using their celebrity in a very interesting and wise way?That’s a very admirable thing and the baby certainly looks so beautiful and they both look so happy and I am very happy for them.”
